Serving as emcee, Dr. Acharya will open the Grand Rounds Section of the day with video comments from Dean Robert Golden at the UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Acharya will then introduce Dr. Murali followed by Fritz Wenzel as the keynote speaker.
The Grand Rounds will include the following panelists and topics:
Dr. Lee – “Improving Health and Safety in the Farm Community”
Dr. Peissig – “Improving Patient Care via Informatics”
Dr. Brilliant – “Improving Public Health with Precision Medicine”
Dr. Haws – “Physicians and Community Care Delivery”
Starting at 1:30 – 3:30, there will be an open house of the George E. Magnin Medical Library and Honorable Melvin R. Laird Office and conference room.
At 3:30 – 4:30, Fritz Wenzel will emcee special presentations honoring Mel Laird. The program will conclude with “observations of a father, as a man and contributor to the broader community” by David Laird. Lastly the Marshfield American Legion Post will have a reading of “Post Everlasting” with taps.
The historic Laird family home will be open for tours until 6:30. This is located at 208 S. Cherry Avenue. The evening will conclude with a performance beginning at 7:00 p.m. of the Pro Arte Quartet concert in Mr. Laird’s honor at the Helen Connor Laird Fine Arts Center at the UW- Marshfield/Wood County.
