The Project Scientist serves as a scientific collaborator for study activities and directs research project activities while collaborating with the Principal Investigator on priorities and study designs. This role is responsible for creating and presenting materials on study results and maintaining detailed records on the study for effective responses for funding and other inquiries.
Education: Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) relative to the technical function of the role required.
Experience: Two years research experience relative to the technical function of the role or two years research experience in a health related field that includes doctoral training required. Must have experience with programming and machine learning methods. Must have a knowledge of quantitative methods and study design. Experience with scientific writing and a familiarity with statistical techniques for data analysis preferred.

The Research Programmer/Analyst designs, develops, evaluates and modifies computer programs and database applications to collect, manage, analyze and evaluate clinical and research data. Monitors data quality, recognizes inconsistencies and initiates resolution of data problems. Typically creates programs and databases using SAS and other software to support a wide variety of research projects. Implements data management plans designed to meet project and protocol deadlines, provides expertise in the design and development of research projects, clinical trials and systems. Acts as liaison between investigators and project teams on an as-needed basis.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, statistics, or a related technical field, with formal coursework in programming.
Experience: Demonstrated knowledge of different database systems, such as Oracle, SQL server and MS Access; demonstrated quantitative and problem solving skills; Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office tools: Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.

Under the direction of senior personnel, the Programmer/Analyst is involved in most phases of the development process. This includes gathering specifications, creating and refining functionality specifications, conducting the analysis and design, programming, testing, documenting, assisting in implementation, and resolving of issues. The ability to work and thrive in a team environment is critical.
Education:Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business or technical field.
Experience:Applicable development experience in a work environment similar to that of Marshfield Clinic.
