Human Diversity Panel Allele Frequencies

Available from this page are genotypes from over 400 STRPs typed on over 1,000 human DNA samples from 51 populations distributed around the globe. The STRPs were taken from our Screening Set 10 with markers distributed along the length of each chromosome and average marker spacing of slightly under 10 cM.  Information about the 51 human populations can be obtained from the downloadable file available below marked DiversityPanel and also from Cann et al. Science 296:261-262, 2002.  Allele frequencies for the markers broken down by population are available from the file labeled DiversityFrequencies.   Also available is a file labeled DiversityMarkers that contains a list of the markers that were genotyped along with their linkage map positions.  The file labeled DiversityGenotypes contains the raw genotype data with alleles listed as the lengths of PCR products.  Genotyping of the Diversity Panel samples by the Mammalian Genotyping Service at Marshfield was initiated through the efforts of Ken Kidd at Yale, and Marcus Feldman and Luca Cavalli-Sforza at Stanford.

Analysis of these data was published in Science 298:2381-2385 (2002). The data, in the format used for that analysis, is available from Noah Rosenberg.

The downloadable files are in Microsoft Excel format.  You must have this program loaded on your computer in order to view these files.  The genotype file is quite large and may take several seconds to appear.
